HTC
have just pulled back the curtains on their latest smartphone,
the Butterfly S.
Keeping true to their unimaginative smartphone naming convention, they have
added an ‘S’ to its predecessor, the original Butterfly handset. That’s where
the complaints end. Butterfly S will come with a fresh and potent mix of
hardware which includes a 1.9 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor (if you
notice this is faster than the HTC One), 2 GBs of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a
nice, big 5-inch full HD (1080p) Super LCD 3 screen (440PPI).
HTC BlinkFeed provides
content from over 2,000 media sources around the web. UltraPixel is claimed to
capture 3 times more light than traditional phone cameras and will be able to
deliver better performance in low lit environments. Also added is a front facing
1.2-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. HTC Zoe offers sophisticated editing
capabilities like combining photos to create high-definition 30 second clips.
The battery pack claims a sizeable capacity of 3,200mAh, For comparison,
the HTC One comes with a far lesser capable 2,300mAh battery.Butterfly S is set to
be released in Taiwan this July for $767.
